About Me

Hey there, wanderers of the open road! I’m Bob “The Whiz” Johnson, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my humble digital abode.

So, who is this Bob “The Whiz”, you ask? Well, imagine if Indiana Jones traded his whip for an RV and his fear of snakes for a deep-seated dread of low bridges – that’s me in a nutshell. I’m a retired math teacher who swapped algebra and geometry for adventures and the geometry of the open road (see, you can’t entirely escape math!).

My love for vehicles and the open road was instilled in me by my truck-driving dad. Growing up with a cornfield for a backyard and the vast Midwestern sky for a playground, I dreamed of chasing horizons and exploring the unexplored. When I retired from shaping young minds, I decided it was high time to shape my own adventure – thus, my life as a full-time RVer began.

Here on “RV Whiz”, I share tales of my RV escapades, peppered with tips, tricks, and the occasional misadventure, because let’s face it, no one likes a know-it-all. Over the years, I’ve built a strong community of fellow RV enthusiasts who share my love for the road, the outdoors, and the occasional Broadway singalong (yes, you might catch me belting out “The Phantom of the Opera” under the stars).

When I’m not guiding my home-on-wheels to new destinations, I’m a jack of all trades. From amateur bird-watching and stargazing to attempting regional dishes in my compact but mighty RV kitchen, I make the most of my traveling lifestyle.

My goal is to guide, inspire, and make you laugh as you navigate the wonderful world of RVing. Whether you’re a seasoned road warrior or just getting your wheels dirty, there’s a place for you here.

So, come on in, make yourself at home, and let’s hit the open road together. Remember, in the words of the immortal Willie Nelson, “The life I love is making music with my friends…and I can’t wait to get on the road again.”

Welcome to my world – let’s make it a road worth traveling!
